Our Faith-based toddler/preschool programs are play focused
year-round programs designed for 1.5-5 year old children.
Located at the St. Joseph's Church Parish Center in
Northwood, we invite all children of our surrounding
community to come play and learn with us! A religious
affiliation is not required to attend.
We have developed our Preschool programs to focus on
many aspects of Kindergarten readiness. Utilizing environmental
and hands-on learning techniques, in a natural learning
environment, we offer social, emotional, spiritual, and
academic support to future Kindergartners during our time together.
Using developmentally appropriate practice and an emergent
curriculum, we structure a format suitable for engaging
learning. We share our time as both a group and as individuals
focusing on: gross and fine motor skills; letter recognition
and writing; emergent literacy skills; creative expression
through art, music, and movement; social-emotional
skills, engaging appropriately with peers and teachers,
as well as regulating emotions effectively; and cognitiveskills such as early numeracy concepts, science and
social studies, and exploring a variety of approaches
to learning.
Our emergent curriculum incorporates the NH Early
Learning Standards, the "Learning Without Tears"
writing format, "God Made the World" and "God Made Me"
Faith-based lessons and activities, character development,
mindfulness techniques, and appropriate classroom
behavior skills, such as listening and following directions,
using positive virtues and manners, playground
and classroom safety, and learning to wait our turn!
